Overview
Learn what StayPut does and how door monitoring fits into your overnight trip workflow.
2 min read
StayPut pairs a wireless door sensor on each hotel room door with an LTE gateway hub, so chaperones get an instant alert if a door opens during curfew — without patrolling hallways or taping doors shut.
Supports Supervision, Doesn't Replace It
StayPut alerts the adults already watching a trip. It doesn’t replace chaperone check-ins, and there are no cameras or microphones involved — just door-open events on a schedule you set.
Who Uses StayPut
Planners and chaperones share one dashboard:
- Trip planners create trips, add rooms and students, set curfew windows, and invite chaperones.
- Chaperones join a trip, see its room and alert history, and get notified the moment a monitored door opens after curfew.
Alerts go out by push notification, email, and SMS, so they’re hard to miss overnight.
How a Trip Comes Together
- Order a gateway hub and a door sensor for each room you want to monitor.
- Create an account and sign in to the dashboard.
- Create a trip, add rooms and students, and set a curfew window.
- Invite other chaperones so they can see alerts too.
- Stick a sensor on each door and plug in the hub at the hotel — no hotel Wi-Fi required.
- Once curfew starts, StayPut watches the doors and alerts you if one opens.
