Where Is My Hardware Usable?
Understand where StayPut gateways and door sensors can be used.
StayPut hardware comes in two radio-frequency versions, and each works in a different set of countries. You don’t pick the version yourself: the order form asks which country you’ll use the hardware in and chooses the matching version.
The Two Frequency Versions
| Version | Where it works |
|---|---|
| US915 MHz | 15 countries in North and South America, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico |
| EU868 MHz | 72 countries, including most of Europe |
The full country lists are on the Purchase Hardware page under Where the hardware works; the list for your selected destination opens automatically.

Pick the country where you’ll use the hardware, not where it ships. Hardware used outside its version’s countries will not connect, and all devices at one location — gateway and sensors — must be the same version.
Certification
Standard StayPut hardware is certified for North America. Region-approved variants for other markets are available on request with a longer lead time. If your destination isn’t in the country picker, choose My country isn’t listed and contact support before ordering.
Connectivity
The gateway connects over cellular LTE with an included SIM card, so it works at any hotel with cellular coverage — no hotel Wi-Fi, guest-network passwords, or IT involvement needed. Door sensors talk wirelessly to the gateway, not to the internet, so they need no network of their own.
